Dori’s Tea Cottage & Café is on Main Street (Highway 120) in Groveland, California – just 26 miles from Yosemite National Park. The tea room is located in the former residence of Minnie Ferretti, one of Groveland’s first U.S. Postmasters. Built in 1935, this charming house features a welcoming brick courtyard surrounded by roses and grapevines. Inside, you feel the warmth of the old house, from its original hardwood floors and lace curtains to the old stone fireplace.

We invite you to step back in time to enjoy the charming atmosphere of this historical site and to partake in the English tradition of

taking tea – a tradition that began in England in 1840 by Anne, the seventh Duchess of Bedford.

Dori’s Tea Cottage opened in May 2008 to continue this fine tea tradition and to expand on Dori’s life-long love of tea. As a young girl growing up in San Francisco, Dori was first introduced to tea by her English grandmother, Elsie.

Her grandmother’s favorite tea cup and the teacup Dori used at her grandmother’s home are on display in the shop, and the menu selections are named after the women in Dori’s family.

In 2012, Dori’s expanded into the adjacent space that is now Dori’s Café, which was Groveland’s former U.S. Post Office. The Café features espresso, fresh brewed iced teas, sandwiches, wraps, quiche, soup, salad and a variety of bakery items.

We hope you enjoy your visit – whether you enjoy a quick breakfast, join us for our English tea luncheon, or "Build a Picnic" for your trip to Yosemite.
